Tyler Allgeier, who led his team to a victory on Saturday to move the BYU Cougars to 5-0 on the year, has been named the NIL U Player of the Week. In the 34-20 win over Utah State this past week, Allgeier rushed for 218 yards on 22 attempts and 3 touchdowns. The former walk-on from Fontana, CA has been a big part of the Cougars success this year. In just five games, the sophomore running back has rushed for 569 yards and 7 touchdowns.

With all the success Allgeier is having on the field, he is equally succeeding off the field with NIL opportunities. As one of 125 top college athletes nationwide, Tyler is a part of the YOKE Gaming partnership with It’s Just Wings. These athletes have the ability to be outfitted with It’s Just Wings attire and share exclusive deals and content on social media. He also joins a number of athletes that have partnered with the popular crypto exchange, FTX.  This summer, we reported on the first team-wide NIL deal with BYU Football that Nick Greer, a BYU alumni and CEO of Built Bar, agreed to take part in. Tyler Allgeier widely promotes Built Bar across his social media pages to earn the stipend that he and many of his teammates have access to. Lastly, he has a deal with Blamshot, which is a specialized lip balm company, that employs those with special needs.

As a former walk-on, Allgeier understands all the good that can come from NIL. Not too long ago, he was working at a Walmart in Provo, UT to help pay his way through college so he didn’t have to ask his mother for money. Now, the star running-back has led his team to an undefeated start to the season and is excelling in the NIL world.
