Tyler Jackson is the No. 20 player in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-1 guard from Baltimore (MD) St. Frances averaged 26.0 points in the semi-finals and finals en route to the UAA Next Spring 16u Championship.

“I’m a slasher that can shoot,” Jackson told On3. “I’m trying to turn more into a facilitator, expand more game more and be a true floor general. I watch a lot of Steph Curry, the way he moves around with and without the ball; how he gets open.”

On3 caught up with Tyler Jackson after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.

Jackson talks recruitment

“I’m hearing a lot from Syracuse, Maryland, and Alabama. Oregon has been watching me a lot recently,” Jackson said. “When I start going on visits, I definitely want to set visits up with those four.”

Alabama: “Collin Sexton was one of my favorite guards coming out of high school. We all know Brandon Miller, of course. I like Alabama. It’s a good program and a great school. And the SEC is a great conference.”

Syracuse: “Carmelo Anthony went there. Of course, I know Carmelo, and he’s helped me a lot because he’s from Baltimore, where I’m from. I like Syracuse.”

Maryland: “It’s all love there. Being from Maryland, it’s like home there, like a second home. And one of my senior guards, Jahnathan Lamothe, is going there. He’s going to show out.”

Oregon: “They’re an all Nike school out there in Oregon. It looks nice out there, and that green and yellow just go together. Kwame Evans is going out there, and he’s from my area.”

“I watched a lot of Kentucky growing up; that’s my dream school,” Jackson said.

In Jackson’s words

“I’m looking for a relationship with these programs,” Jackson said. “I want to go to a school that reaches out and cares. I don’t want to go play for a coach who is just trying to sell me a dream.

“The style of play will probably matter, but right now, I’m just looking to build a relationship with the coach. If you build that relationship, the style of play won’t really matter as long as you trust what he’s doing and he trusts you.”
