Tyler Nickel, 2022 4-star, sets commitment date

Tyler Nickel, a 6-foot-8 small forward out of Elkton (Va.) East Rockingham will announce his college decision on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 2:45 pm ET, according to his Twitter.
In July, Nickel narrowed his list of schools to five – North Carolina, Iowa, Virginia Tech, LSU, and Butler.
Nickel only took two official visits, one to Virginia Tech on Sept. 4, and the other to North Carolina on Sept. 11. Therefore, Nickel will make a decision between these two programs.
Here’s what Tyler Nickel had to say on both of the respective programs in a recent interview with On3.

Nickel on Virginia Tech
When asked which coaches he has the strongest relationship with, he responded: “I’d say I have a pretty good relationship with all of them, but Virginia Tech has been there the longest, being in-state and all. They’ve probably been contacting me the most over time.”
North Carolina
Nickel received an offer from the Tar Heels in June and said: “That was a real cool moment. Especially growing up and watching those guys, like the pros. And then knowing that they want you to play there…that’s a real good feeling.”
