UCF is expected to hire Darin Hinshaw as offensive coordinator, sources tell On3.

Hinshaw, a former record-setting QB at UCF, was UAB’s offensive coordinator this season. He’s previously been assistant coach at places such as Kentucky, Cincinnati and Tennessee.

Hinshaw, who played at UCF from 1991-94, is tied for second in Knights history with 82 career touchdown passes. He was an offensive analyst at UCF in 2021.

Hinshaw will be the replacement for Chip Lindsey, who recently left the Knights to take the offensive coordinator job at North Carolina.

Aided by Lindsey, UCF ranked 17th nationally in total offense this season on its way to a 9-5 finish, including 6-2 in AAC play.

The Knights are set to move up to the Big 12 next season.
