Clovis (Calif.) North 2025 running back McKay Madsen took his official visit to UCLA over the weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound McKay was fresh off hanging with the staff and program at the spring game at the end of April.

“My official visit was such an awesome experience getting the full taste of Westwood and spending time down there for a weekend,” McKay said. “Some highlights for me were eating with the coaches and staff at super nice restaurants and just getting to talk with them about anything and strengthening those relationships. I also loved being at the Rose Bowl and touring around it and imaging myself maybe playing there.

“I think they could be a potential fit because first and foremost they want me as a running back/fullback and showed me how I could be a unique part in their offense. It’s also close to home and that LA weather is hard to beat.

“The coaches are always so welcoming of me and my family and really care about the players and it’s evident.”

McVay said a lot of the same when he visited two weekends ago.

“What excites me is how experienced the staff is and the enthusiasm they are bringing to revamp the program and culture.”

Besides UCLA, McVay holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, BYU and Washington among others.

UCLA is the On3 RPM favorite to ultimately land the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Madsen who rushed for 995 yards and 18 touchdowns this past season.
