UConn has added a fourth commitment to its 2025 recruiting class as Australian guard Jacob Furphy announced his pledge to the Huskies on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-6 wing out of NBA Global Academy visited both UConn and Illinois in September, but elected to join Dan Hurley and Co. in Storrs.

Furphy was on the Australia team that won the FIBA U18 Asian Cup this fall. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds in the event while also shooting 13-28 from behind the arc.

He joins a recruiting class that ranks No. 2 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Mansaquan (N.J.) La Lumiere four-star shooting guard Darius Adams, Greenfield (Ind.) Central four-star SG Braylon Mullins and Potomac (Md.) Bullis four-star center Eric Reibe round out the elite class for the Huskies this cycle. All three are top-30 overall prospects in the On3 Industry Ranking.

The fall has been fruitful for Hurley and the Huskies on the recruiting trail. Adams, the nation’s No. 17 prospect and No. 5 shooting guard, was the first to join the class, doing so on Sept. 30. Reibe, the top-ranked center in the cycle, pledged on Oct. 16. Mullins, the No. 22 recruit and No. 6 SG, was next on Oct. 23.

“I chose UConn because of a few reasons. Culture was a big part, it’s all about winning. The playstyle fit me extremely well, and with their play style, I can develop myself as a successful player. I’ve also built a very strong relationship with Coach Hurley and the staff,” Mullins told On3. “They made it feel like home. I trust Coach Hurley and the staff because I feel like they give me the best shot of reaching my goals as a player.”
