Former UConn guard Isaiah Abraham has committed to Georgetown out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Joe Tipton confirmed. Abraham entered the portal on March 27 shortly after the Huskies’ exit from the NCAA Tournament.

Abraham appeared in just nine games this season for Connecticut as he played in six during November before not play in the other three until the start of March with two in the regular season and in their quarterfinal in the Big East Tournament. He averaged 1.6 points and 0.6 rebounds in those appearances in the less than four minutes per game he got with the Huskies.

Abraham, a native of Gainesville, Virginia, played high school basketball at Paul VI Catholic in Fairfax. He was a four-star prospect there as the No. 63 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle. He also rated as the No. 21 SF in the class and the No. 4 player out of the state. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Abraham was the first commitment of this cycle for UConn after choosing them over programs like Providence, Marquette, and Virginia Tech. He was then the third-ranked out of their class of three signees last year, behind Liam McNeely (No. 11 – FiveStar+) and Ahmad Nowell (No. 37), which rated at No. 8 in On3’s 2024 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

He’ll look to start a new beginning in Georgetown under head coach Ed Cooley. The Hoyas finished the 2025-25 season with an 18-16 record. The finished their season on April 2 against Nebraska in the second round of the College Basketball Crown.

As of Wednesday, March 26, over 1,250 Men’s College Basketball players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. That number is expected to grow as the 2024-25 college basketball season nears its end.

The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking and original On3 Industry recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image and likeness).
