ULM running back Ahmad Hardy plans to enter transfer portal
Louisiana-Monroe running back Ahmad Hardy plans to enter the transfer portal, he tells On3. The freshman ranks No. 10 in the nation in rushing yards.
The 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back rushed for 1,351 yards on 237 carries with 13 touchdowns this year for the Warhawks in 2024. Hardy has rushed for over 100 yards eight times and over 200 yards twice. He becomes one of the most sought-after running backs in the transfer portal.
Ahmad Hardy was a key piece in ULM’s turnaround in Year One under head coach Bryant Vincent. The Warhawks finished the season 5-7 after opening the year 5-1 and 3-0 in the Sun Belt, which was the school’s best start since 1987.

The transfer portal officially opens on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers. That means roughly 25% of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year.
