It’s been a day full of vitriol and fights in college football, as rivalry week is known to deliver. And the latest incident comes from Kenan Stadium, after N.C. State beat rival North Carolina, 35-30, on UNC’s home field.

Following the win, Wolfpack players went to plant a flag with the logo at midfield. North Carolina players took umbrage and moved in.

From there, a physical altercation broke out.

The Wolfpack and Tar Heels were fairly evenly matched on Saturday, with North Carolina holding a negligible edge in total yardage, 468-462. And defense was not much on the menu, as each team averaged more than seven yards per play. But winning the turnover battle, 2-1, helped as the Wolfpack scored just a bit more — and touchdowns instead of field goals — to win.

And with the win, they went to celebrate and the response from the Tar Heels led to a scrap.

The scrap amongst the Carolina rivals was not the only one of the day, either.

The first big rivalry matchup of the day to end in fisticuffs and other scuffles was The Game, with the latest edition of the matchup between Michigan and Ohio State ending with a brawl on the field in Ohio Stadium after Michigan won, 13-10.

Both teams came together at the middle of the field with plenty of pushing and shoving. Following the scuffle, Ohio State EDGE defender Jack Sawyer stole the Michigan flag and threw it to the side and attempted to rip it.

“For such a great game, you hate to see stuff like that after the game. It’s just bad for the sport, bad for college football,” Michigan RB Kalel Mullings said after the brawl on the FOX broadcast. “But at the end of the day, some people, they’ve got to learn how to lose. You can’t be fighting and stuff just because you lost the game. All that fighting, we had 60 minutes, we had four quarters to do all that fighting. Now, people want to talk and fight. That’s wrong. It’s just bad for the game. Classless, in my opinion. People got to be better.”
