Taking place at the Jumpman Invitational, you can make the argument this is the game of the night between the No. 11 Tar Heels and No. 7 Sooners. But the rankings aren’t necessarily indicative of how the game will unfold.

Let’s dive into the odds and predictions from multiple outlets regarding the UNC and Oklahoma basketball game Wednesday night.

BPI predicted point differential: 0.7
BPI win probability (for UNC): 52.4%

ESPN’s BPI is a model designed to provide a statistical comparison between two teams and predict future success. The model is very close between the two teams at the moment, with UNC the ever so slight favorite.

Not only that, the matchup quality is the best on the Wednesday slate, nearly two full points above the next game.

KenPom predicted final score: North Carolina wins 78-77
KenPom win probability (for UNC): 55%

KenPom is very similar to the ESPN BPI as well as the spread for this contest. Honestly, this couldn’t get any closer right now. This could very well be the game of the night.

Tar Heels coach Hubert Davis noted UNC has to be tough down low in order to run past teams. That didn’t happen against Kentucky in a loss.

Don’t worry Tar Heel nation, Davis believes there’s plenty of juice with UNC even with Oklahoma on deck.

The team has always had fight. That’s never been a question or a concern at all,” Davis said. “I love this group and I love their competitive fight.”

UNC will need that type of attitude Wednesday night to try and hand Oklahoma its first loss of the season. The Sooners (10-0) look to climb the polls as the season progresses and perhaps pull off a special season.
