Under Armour Circuit Day 1 Coaches Watch

On3 MVP: Four-star SF Shon Abaev – SOH Elite 17u

Shon Abaev showcased all the tools in the kit today. Listed at 6-foot-7, the wing played with the utmost confidence, getting to his spots on the floor and knocking down shots at every level. The lefty has long arms and a projectable frame with good positional size.

Abaev was at his best on the ball, mostly in iso- situations. There were multiple plays where his handle put the opposing defender on skates, turning them in every direction. He also caught a vicious body, possibly the dunk of the day, as he drove hard left and met a defender at the rim. All in all, it was the most impressive performance of the day.

His brother, Eli Abaev, played at Austin Peay and Florida Gulf Coast before starting his professional career in the Israel Premier League. St. John’s and LSU are the two high major programs already on board for the No. 49 player in the 2025 On3 75.

2. Four-star PF Derik Queen – Team Thrill

Derik Queen is very skilled, and at 6-foot-9 it is the skill level pops. He did a majority of his work today on the low block. He showed solid patience with the ball in his hands with an array of counters, finishing with both left and right hands.

Queen also showed more pop today. The No. 15 player in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking finished with multiple dunks in traffic, including one that was chest to chest with an opposing post player. Queen pushed the break off the rebound and played very efficiently within himself in this setting. He was a force on the block and got most of what he wanted on the day.

Maryland head coach Kevin Willard and assistants from Seton Hall and Michigan were at both games.

3. Four-star SF Efeosa Oliagu – Canada Elite

Efeosa Oliagu’s ability to get to the rim is impressive. At 6-foot-4, he is a load getting downhill, even playing up in age on the 17u Circuit; his quick first step and ability to absorb contact at the rim get him a lot of and-one finishes.

The explosion is where things start, but he has good feel as well. He’s playing with his right thumb and wrist wrapped (recovering from a fracture), so we did not see a lot of the jump shot, but he was so effective getting to the rim that it was not a factor. Oliagu is a good defender, versatile, and he is a strong rebounder from his guard position. He played efficiently and very within himself.

Coaches from across the high major spectrum were courtside for both of the No. 11 player in the 2025 On3 75.

4. Four-star SG Vyctorius Miller – West Coast Elite

Vyctorius Miller played with freedom today, so it was good to see how he got his points. He has a good handle and the ability to get to his spots and rise up. On the ball, he was comfortable. Got his team into sets on some possessions and created opportunities.

You like the confidence he plays with and you like his ability to score in multiple ways. LSU head coach Matt McMahon was at both of Miller’s games today.

5. Four-star SF Chase McCarty – Atlanta Xpress

Chase McCarty has a versatile skill set that was interesting. He was at his best in transition, was able to get downhill and had some shiftiness in his game. McCarty has a very intriguing frame. He has good length with positional size, projects well moving forward.

There is an upside with the way McCarty could defend. The quick-twitch allows him to move his feet on the perimeter and the length gets him in the passing lanes. While he still needs to continue fine-tuning things, it is coming together nicely.

Gonzaga was in to watch, so was Notre Dame.

6. Five-star PF Bryson Tiller – Atlanta Xpress

The physical development of Bryson Tiller catches your eye first. He has broad shoulders with long arms and a good motor. The rebounding pops immediately. He chases the boards on both ends of the floor, and tracks well.

Offensively, he plays well from the high post. Able to get downhill in straight lines and finish through contact. He got to the free throw line a good bit here, and the production was really the key with him. Tiller played with Overtime Elite this season.
