Under Armour Next Football Camp Series: Miami preview
The Under Armour Next Football Camp Series will begin this weekend with a middle school camp Saturday and a very talented high school camp Sunday.
More than 150 of the top prospects in the Sunshine State from the classes of 2023, 2024 and 2025 will converge at Ives Estates Park in Miami.
The ultra talented camp includes 17 players ranked in the top 300 of the 2023 On3 Consensus rankings.
The class of 2024 will be well represented as well with more than a dozen prospects that have already been offered by Miami and Florida State.
Talented group of defensive backs expected
The position that may have the most high-end talent and depth at the camp is defensive back. There are four defensive backs on the roster in the On3 Consensus 300 headlined by Alabama safety commitment Elliot Washington. Washington is joined by Ohio State safety commit Cedrick Hawkins, cornerback Daniel Harris and cornerback Antonio Robinson.
On3 is much higher on Harris than the industry. The 6-foot-2, 165-pounders offer list includes Texas A&M, Rutgers, Penn State, Miami and Florida. Michigan, Kentucky and Jackson State have all offered in February. Robinson will have a very busy spring with more than 10 visits planned, including Auburn, Florida State and LSU.
The ultra talented group also includes On300 No. 161 Dijon Johnson and fast rising cornerback Braeden Marshall. Johnson’s one of the fastest rising juniors in the country. He has been extended 19 offers since the first of January, including USC, Alabama, Georgia and Auburn. Marshall’s last two offers have come from Penn State and Minnesota. He made a junior day visit to Florida State the last weekend in January.
The class of 2024 will be represented as well. A pair of cornerbacks offered by Florida State are scheduled to compete. Tomauri Johnson is a 6-foot-3, rangy corner with offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh and others. Another long-armed corner with an FSU offer is Jamari Howard.

Richard Young headlines strong running back group
The nation’s no. 1 ranked running back Richard Young will be in Miami. Young’s RPM strong favors Ohio State headed into the spring. Young will be joined in the 2023 class by fellow On3 Consensus four-stars tailbacks Treyaun Webb and Javin Simpkins. Simpkins was on campus at Louisville to end the month of January.
A very talented group of running backs in 2024 are also scheduled to be in attendance. Davion Gause has picked up offers from Georgia, USC and Ole Miss since the end of the season. Powerfully built downhill back Chauncey Bowens has picked up offer from Illinois and Indiana since the end of the season. Florida State and Miami are also showing serious interest.
Defensive line will be star-studded
The defensive line and EDGE positions will be loaded Sunday headline by No. 29 Malik Bryant. Bryant’s RPM has National Champion Georgia firmly in front. Joining Bryant will be four more prospects in the On3 Consensus top 300 nationally.
Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola teammates John Walker and Derrick LeBlanc are scheduled to compete. What Walker may lack in ideal frame, he more than makes up for with power, quickness and a competitive fire. Florida State is the RMP front runner with Alabama, Ohio State and Penn State also factoring in heavily. LeBlanc has Ohio State, Florida, Clemson, Miami and a number of others duking it out for his signature.
Florida State commitment and legacy Lamont Green Jr., EDGE Gavin Hill and EDGE Wilky Denaud will be on hand. Florida leads the RPM for Hill, while Florida leads the RPM for Denaud.
A 2024 EDGE with a familiar name is scheduled to take part, Willis McGahee IV. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder has an early offer from Rutgers.
