Updated odds released for potential College Football Playoff matchups

A fresh batch of College Football Playoff rankings was released on Tuesday, with the top four remaining the same. LSU moved into the No. 5 slot after Tennessee dropped a game on Saturday, staying a spot ahead of USC at least for another week. We’re entering crunch time when it comes to the CFP, with potential matchups already being thought of.
Lines for potential matchups in the playoff were released shortly after the committee’s reveal by Collin Wilson of the Action Network. Ranging from Georgia to No. 1 to LSU, he ran through a round-robin of all five teams playing against one another.

Two of them we are already going to see, with Michigan–Ohio State scheduled for Saturday and Georgia facing off against LSU in the SEC Championship. However, the former of the two will be played at Ohio Stadium, while the SEC programs will meet in Atlanta.
You can check out all 10 potential spreads here. All are assuming the game is played at a neutral site.
Georgia favored against every potential opponent
Arguably to no surprise, Georgia would be favored against every potential College Football Playoff opponent. They have been the No. 1 team in the country ever since defeating Tennessee in Athens and is expected to retain their spot come Selection Sunday.

Ohio State would be viewed as the most formidable opponent, only being a two-point underdog. LSU is considered the heaviest underdog, nearly being a three-possession game. As mentioned, the two will see each other on a neutral site field come Dec. 3.
Georgia played against Michigan in last year’s semifinal game, comfortably winning by 15 points. The line for this year’s matchup would not quite reach that number — but close at nine points in favor of the Bulldogs.
TCU would be favored over LSU
In what might be the least likely matchup to take place in the semifinals, TCU finds itself as a field goal favorite over LSU. It’s the only team Sonny Dykes would be expected to win in the eyes of the oddsmakers over the four potential matchups.
A lot of purple would be in the building if these two programs somehow met, especially if the game is played in SEC country. Nonetheless, it’s some respect for the Horned Frogs against a quality opponent in Brian Kelly’s squad.
