Updated 2023 Big 12 Football Championship Odds released
The best bet, no matter the odds, in Big 12 football every year is a simple one: Will Texas fans claim to be back at some point during the season? The answer has been yes every year.
But if the Vegas oddsmakers are correct, there will be some legitimacy to that claim this season.
According to VegasInsider, FanDuel Sportsbook, BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook all have the Longhorns as the favorites for the 2023 Big 12 title, as of the middle of May. FanDuel Sportsbook and BetMGM have Texas at +115 while Caesars Sportsbook has the Longhorns at +110.
They aren’t the only ones who believe in the Longhorns this year. ESPN analyst and commentator Greg McElroy also named Texas as his preseason favorites to take home the Big 12 title.
“I do think that Texas, seriously I really believe this, I think Texas is really really well positioned this year,” McElroy said back in April on his podcast. “And I think this is a team that has not handled expectations well though, every time we all get real fired up about Texas in the preseason they really have a tendency of kind of letting us down.”
The Longhorns’ Red River rivals, Oklahoma, have the second-best odds in the Big 12 at +300 from BetMGM, +325 from Caesars Sportsbook and +330 from FanDuel Sportsbook.

This upcoming season will be the first one with new teams BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF as the Big 12 will have 14 schools in the conference. With the additional teams, the regular season will no longer be a round-robin format for the Big 12 schools.
