SEC rankings AFI

The 2024 recruiting cycle is in full swing now and this cycle will look even more competitive in the SEC with Oklahoma and Texas set to become official members in 2024.

While it’s still early in the cycle so while several of the top recruits have yet to commit, others have and some schools have to started to gather momentum.

Here is the 2024 SEC On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, as of Friday at 12 p.m. including the two programs joining in the future.

*Note: Missouri, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt currently have no commitments for their 2024 classes.

1. Georgia (95.496)
1 five-stars | 8 four-stars | 1 three-stars | 10 total recruits
Top Commit: IMG Academy (Fla.) cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, No. 20 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The back-to-back national champions are off to another fast start in 2024. In the past month the Bulldogs have landed commitments from four players ranked inside the top-100 highlighted by the nation’s top cornerback in Robinson IV. In short, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs aren’t going away anytime soon.

2. Alabama (93.980)
1 five-stars | 3 four-stars | 0 three-stars | 4 total recruits
Top Commit: Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville athlete Jaylen Mbakwe, No. 14 in On3 Consensus
Summary: How does Alabama build off of its top-ranked 2023 class? The Crimson Tide may only have four commitments so far but three of those commitments are ranked in the top-100 including four-star quarterback Julian Sayin who’s ranked as the nation’s No. 22 overall prospect and the No. 4 quarterback this cycle.

3. Florida (93.595)
0 five-stars | 4 four-stars | 0 three-stars | 4 total recruits
Top Commit: Willis (Texas) quarterback DJ Lagway, No. 21 in On3 Consensus
Summary: After landing the highest-number of blue-chip recruits since Urban Meyer’s last season with the Gators, Bill Napier’s off to another hot start this cycle. Lagway’s ranked just outside of the top-20 and has been one of the Gator’s top recruiters since his commitment tweeting at every single player who picks up an offer from Florida to come and play with him.

4. South Carolina (92.400)
0 five-stars | 4 four-stars | 0 three-stars | 4 total recruits
Top Commit: Dorchester (S.C.) Woodland offensive tackle Kam Pringle, No. 40 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Shane Beamer and co. picked up the biggest win on National Signing Day landing five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor over Oregon. Can the Gamecocks build off of that win with another great class in 2024? Pringle is a solid start and landing a commitment from four-star EDGE Dylan Stewart would be huge.

5. LSU (91.815)
0 five-stars | 5 four-stars | 3 three-stars | 8 total recruits
Top Commit: Bellaire (Texas) Shadow Creek safety Maurice Williams, No. 111 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Each of the Tigers’ four-star commitments are ranked inside the top-100. Where the excitement comes with their class this cycle are the players trending towards LSU like EDGE Colin Simmons, linebacker Tylen Singleton and tight end Trey’Dez Green.

6. Tennessee (90.817)
0 five-stars | 2 four-stars | 1 three-stars | 3 total recruits
Top Commit: IMG Academy (Fla.) athlete Jonathan Echols, No. 29 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The Volunteers haven’t had any 2024 commits since four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley committed to last October. That should change soon though with the Vols in the mix for several of the nation’s top players including four-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo and top prospect in Tennessee, four-star linebacker Edwin Spillman.

7. Auburn (90.564)
0 five-stars | 3 four-stars | 0 three-stars | 3 total recruits
Top Commit: Little Rock (Ark.) Little Rock Christian Academy quarterback Walker White, No. 165 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Hugh Freeze landed his first major win at Auburn recently as White picked the Tigers over Clemson, the team many had him trending towards. Beating out traditional powerhouses like Clemson are a solid first step for Freeze as he aims to propel the Tigers back towards the top of the SEC.

8. Texas (90.257)
0 five-stars | 2 four-stars | 1 three-stars | 3 total recruits
Top Commit: Houston (Texas) Clear Lake athlete Hunter Moddon, No. 108 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Texas had a historically good 2023 class and will likely look to build upon that in 2024 as they aim for the nation’s top class. Moddon is the only player the Longhorns currently have committed who’s ranked in the top-150 but expect that number to jump significantly in the coming months.

9. Arkansas (89.497)
0 five-stars | 1 four-stars | 0 three-stars | 1 recruit
Top Commit: Leeds (Ala.) defensive lineman Kavion Henderson, No. 151 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Arkansas landed a commitment from Henderson on Nov. 6 but have yet to land another commitment since. While they’ll likely look to build this class around him, the Razorbacks will also look to land commitments from the state’s No. 2 and No. 3 prospects in running back Braylen Russell and defensive lineman Charleston Collins.

10. Texas A&M (89.152)
0 five-stars | 3 four-stars | 1 three-stars | 4 total recruits
Top Commit: Longview (Texas) Pine Tree defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, No. 214 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The Aggies may have the No. 10 class in the SEC currently but they rank No. 20 nationally. Texas A&M’s latest commitment three-star quarterback Anthony Maddox picked the Aggies over Alabama and Penn State.

11. Ole Miss (89.129)
0 five-stars | 2 four-stars | 0 three-stars | 2 total recruits
Top Commit: Chandler (Ariz.) Basha quarterback Demond Williams Jr., No. 252 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Ole Miss may only have two commitments but both are currently ranked in the top-300. Williams Jr. was a major pickup for Lane Kiffin’s offense while linebacker Jordan Lockhart committed to the Rebels four days after taking a visit to USC.

12. Kentucky (84.455)
0 five-stars | 0 four-stars | 2 three-stars | 2 total recruits
Top Commit: Independence (Ky.) Simon Kenton interior offensive lineman Aba Selm, No. 624 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The Wildcats 2023 class dropped significantly from where they were in 2022 and they’re off to a slow start in 2024. Selm is the highest-ranked player in Kentucky so the Wildcats will have to look out of state to get this year’s class back to the middle of the pack.
