Updated Coaches Poll Top 25 revealed following Week 4 of college football

The USA TODAY Coaches Poll Top 25 has been updated following an exciting Week 4 of college football.
First off, Tennessee and Penn State both moved up three spots, while Washington was catapulted six spots to No. 18 overall. On the other hand, Oklahoma dropped ten spots to No. 16 after a loss to Kansas State, while Arkansas saw their ranking fall nine spots to No. 19 after Texas A&M handed them their first loss.
Moreover, some big programs dropped out of the Coaches Poll Top 25 entirely, as Texas, Michigan State, Miami and Florida all won’t see rankings next to their name this week. All suffered some pretty demoralizing losses, but will be looking to right the ship in Week 5.

Alas, arguably the best game from Saturday happened at Neyland Stadium, as the SEC showdown between the aforementioned SEC powers Florida and Tennessee went down to the wire. However, the Gators weren’t able to upset the Volunteers, as Josh Heupel’s squad remained undefeated with a huge conference victory.
While Heisman hopeful Anthony Richardson passed for 453 yards, it wasn’t enough to out-duel Tennessee star Hendon Hooker, as the latter passed for 349 yards and two touchdowns. Now, the Volunteers have LSU on the docket before a gigantic showdown with Alabama in Week 6.
Additionally, Texas A&M was able to take the wind out of the sails for Week 5’s matchup between Arkansas and Alabama, as the Aggies defeated the Razorbacks by a score of 23-21. Jimbo Fisher’s squad needed a victory to officially get back on track, and they got a huge one over Sam Pittman and company.

As for the aforementioned Crimson Tide, they remained steadfast in their dominance, defeating Vanderbilt by over 50 points. It was a nice little SEC tuneup for Nick Saban’s bunch before some more challenging games on the schedule.
Finally, both Clemson and USC kept their College Football Playoff dreams alive by thin margins. The Tigers took Wake Forest to overtime, where they were finally able to stop Sam Hartman and the Demon Deacons. As for the Trojans, Oregon State gave them all they could handle, but the offense manned by Caleb Williams proved to get the job done.
The top tier of the college football world is beginning to be solidified, and the Coaches Poll Top 25 backs that up. Here’s the latest rankings following Week 4.
