Updated College Football Playoff National Championship odds released after Week 12

The College Football Playoff picture is clearer than ever after Week 12 action wrapped up on Saturday with a host of upsets. Vegas Insider provided an updated look at the odds to win the CFP national championship in Los Angeles this January.

Through 12 weeks of games, Georgia is still at the top, to no surprise, however, the odds behind them are tightening. Ohio State is now +233 as they could make the playoffs even with a loss to Michigan in Week 13. Georgia defeated Kentucky 16-6, while Ohio State beat Maryland 43-30. With Tennessee losing to South Carolina in stunning fashion on Saturday, both Big Ten teams have improved odds to make the CFP despite their streak-killing matchup this week.

The Vols had +1600 odds to win the national championship before the upset loss to South Carolina but taking their second loss has moved them off of the board completely.

TCU‘s odds went up from +2500 to +1560 as their path to the CFP requires just one more regular season win over 4-7 Iowa State on Saturday and a Big 12 Championship. The four teams on the outside looking in this week are all hoping for the Horned Frogs’ demise so their resumes get a better look in two weeks’ time.

USC also improved its odds with a 48-45 win over UCLA on Saturday. The Trojans face No. 18 Notre Dame on Saturday and it’s a must-win situation for them to keep their resume in the mix for the selection committee.
