Updated College Football Playoff National Championship odds released after Week 2
After another week of madness, insanity and a little bit of football, the odds to win the College Football Playoff changed immensely since Week 1. Although in some ways, they didn’t change much at all. The folks over at Vegas Insider took a consensus of the top sports books out in the desert and averaged out each team’s odds to win the title according to each book.
Here were the results:
Las Vegas College Football Playoff Odds
- Alabama Crimson Tide | +188
- Georgia Bulldogs | +210
- Ohio State Buckeyes | +308
- Clemson Tigers | +1140
- USC Trojans | +1260
- Michigan Wolverines | +2560
- Oklahoma Sooners | +4400
- Tennessee Volunteers | +7020
- Miami Hurricanes | +8520
- Oklahoma State Cowboys | +9100
- Penn State Nittany Lions | +9300
- Arkansas Razorbacks | +9700
- Utah Utes | +10200
- Ole Miss Rebels | +11400
- Texas A&M Aggies | +12400
- Kentucky Wildcats | +12500
- NC State Wolfpack +13900
- Texas Longhorns | +13900
- Florida State Seminoles | +14500
- Michigan State | +14900
- Florida Gators | +15000
So, no surprise to see the Crimson Tide up top, generally speaking. Though their performance against Texas left a lot to be desired. Oh well, history says that betting on Nick Saban and Alabama is a choice in financial responsibility.

Meanwhile, a cast of CFP regulars joined in behind ‘Bama. Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma were all within the top-10 odds-wise. However, programs like USC, Tennessee and Miami — who haven’t been in the national title conversation in quite some time — are floating back towards the top of the contenders list with the great quarterbacks and good teams that they actually have this season.
Overall, a good picture of the college football landscape. Still the suspected powers up top. But a flurry of programs on the rise littering the top-25 of national title title odds.
