Updated Heisman Trophy odds following Week 1 of the college football season
The Heisman Trophy was widely predicted to be won by Spencer Rattler, and the preseason odds reflected the confidence many had in the Oklahoma quarterback. However, following an uneven performance from Rattler and a tremendous debut from another, there’s a new leader in the updated Heisman odds.
Alabama sophomore quarterback Bryce Young has shot up to first on the leaderboard, following an electric debut where he threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns in a lop-sided win over Miami. If he can keep up his impressive play, Young may become the second-straight Crimson Tide player to win the Heisman.
While quarterbacks predominantly make up the top ten, Texas running back Bijan Robinson is quietly climbing the board. If Steve Sarkisian can continue to harness his ability, he could become the first running back to win the award since Derrick Henry in 2015.
Here are the updated Heisman Trophy odds, per Vegas Insider:

The Notre Dame quarterback passed for 366 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing why he won the team’s starting job.
On the other hand, a rough game against Alabama sent Miami’s D’Eriq King tumbling down the leaderboard. The talented quarterback is sure to work his way back up, but he has a long road ahead of him.
As the weeks go on, we’ll see if Young and Rattler can separate themselves from the pack, or if an unknown entity can climb up the board.
