As Week 6 proved once again, college football is a sport full of upsets that can shake up the national title odds at any point. The Alabama Crimson Tide lost on the road to Texas A&M, and consequently dropped from their six-week-long No. 1 spot in the AP poll. Now, after holding steady for weeks, Bama is also no longer the favorite to win the National Championship.

The Georgia Bulldogs tied up the odds after Week 5, but are now the outright favorites to win it all in 2021.

The top four teams in the nation – Georgia, Iowa, Cincinnati, Oklahoma – are all undefeated heading into the Week 7 slate.

National Title odds, per Vegas Insider:

Georgia Bulldogs (+130)

Alabama Crimson Tide (+200)

Ohio State Buckeyes (+1000)

Oklahoma Sooners (+1500)

Iowa Hawkeyes (+2000)

Cincinnati Bearcats (+2000)

Michigan Wolverines (+3000)

Oregon Ducks (+5000)

Michigan State Spartans (+5000)

Penn State Nittany Lions (+6600)

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+8000)

Texas Longhorns (+8000)

Oklahoma State Cowboys (+8000)

Ole Miss Rebels (+8000)

Clemson Tigers (+10000)

Texas A&M Aggies (+10000)

Arizona State Sun Devils (+10000)

Kentucky Wildcats (+10000)

The National Title Favorites

The Georgia Bulldogs left no prisoners versus the Auburn Tigers, taking home their sixth win of the season 34-10. They’re now the Vegas favorites for the national title. They’ll face a harrowing two weeks versus No. 11 Kentucky and No. 20 Florida, but it’s smooth sailing for Kirby Smart’s squad if they can get through them unscathed.

Despite the loss to Texas A&M on a last-play field goal, the Alabama Crimson Tide can still win the National Championship with a loss on their record. Five of their titles under Nick Saban came with a loss on the books.

The Ohio State Buckeyes don’t have a clean record and they’re still very much in the mix for the national title. Ohio State destroyed Maryland behind five touchdowns from C.J. Stroud.

Oklahoma pieced together the largest comeback in Red River Showdown history, benching Spencer Rattler for Caleb Williams in the process. Iowa pulled out a win over a Penn State to hold on to the fifth spot on the odds board. Cincinnati has the same odds as Iowa and the Bearcats don’t face a ranked team again until SMU on Nov. 20.

The Sleepers

In the middle of the pack, No. 9 Oregon takes on Cal on Friday this week. Offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead is ready to get back on the sideline as well after the bye week.

Unbeaten Michigan State ran all over Rutgers on Saturday and takes on 2-3 Indiana, which is still chasing a first conference win.

We shouldn’t expect movement for Michigan in the race for the title as the Wolverines get the week off before facing Northwestern. Penn State is also off for the week after the loss to Iowa. Illinois awaits them on the other side of the bye.
