Team Ranking AFI

The story of the 2025 football recruiting class has very nearly come to a close. The February National Signing Day is a week away and the major media scouting and rankings are releasing their final rankings of the top prospects in the country.

In order to create the most comprehensive and unbiased team recruiting ranking, the On3 Team Recruiting Rankings is solely based on the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings is the most advanced and accurate team ranking in the industry

On Wednesday, the Top247 from 247Sports updated for the final time for the class of 2025. Here is where the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings stand following the update.

1. Texas — 94.211

5 five-stars | 13 four-stars | 7 three-stars | 25 total commits
Top Commit: Galveston (Texas) Ball Five-Star Plus+ S Jonah Williams, No. 6 NATL.

With multiple five-star recruits signed and enrolled in Austin, Texas has locked up the No. 1 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The future defense for the Burnt Orange looks to be stout — with elite talent like safety Jonah Williams, defensive lineman Justus Terry, EDGE Lance Jackson and cornerback Kade Phillips. Linebacker Elijah Barnes, CB Graceson Littleton, EDGE Smith Orogbo and DL Myron Charles are also all standouts on that side of the ball.

Wide receivers Kaliq Lockett, Jaime Ffrench, Michael Terry III and Daylan McCutcheon are lethal threats out wide for Alabama quarterback K.J. Lacey. Running back James Simon is one of the top players out of the state of Louisiana, and Nick Brooks provides 6-foot-7, 360-pound muscle at offensive tackle.

2. Georgia — 93.415

4 five-stars | 18 four-stars | 6 three-stars | 28 total commits
Top Commit: Pooler (Ga.) Savannah Christian Prep Five-Star Plus+ DL Elijah Griffin, No. 3 NATL.

If opposing teams have enjoyed running into buzzsaws of Georgia defensive lines over the years, they’re in luck — there’s more to come. Five-Star Plus+ DL Elijah Griffin and Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Isaiah Gibson headline this top-five Georgia class. As if that were not enough, Darren Ikinnagbon and Chase Linton also feature at edge rusher, with Zayden Walker ready to go at linebacker.

Georgia has also brought in a pair of quarterbacks. First was Ryan Montgomery, who went down with an injury early in his senior season. Next was Hezekiah Millender, who flipped away from Boise State on Nov. 30. Talyn Taylor will be a five-star weapon at wide receiver for either quarterback with CJ Wiley alongside him.

3. Alabama — 93.359

3 five-stars | 14 four-stars | 4 three-stars | 21 total commits
Top Commit: Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ QB Keelon Russell, No. 2 NATL.

One of the most consequential flips of the 2025 cycle came when Alabama took Duncanville (Texas) QB Keelon Russell away from SMU back in early June. Russell, the No. 2 passer in the class, will be protected by an elite group of offensive linemen. A group that consists of Michael Carroll, Jackson Lloyd, Micah DeBose and Mal Waldrep. The Tide won’t be short offensive weapons, either, with the likes of elite RB Akylin Dear and talented pass-catchers Derek Meadows, Kaleb Edwards and Lotzeir Brooks.

The defensive side of the ball is no slouch, either. Dijon Lee is the centerpiece of this 2025 Crimson Tide secondary class alongside Chuck McDonald. Star edge rusher Justin Hill comes to Tuscaloosa via Cincinnati while Ivan Taylor and Darrell Johnson also feature elsewhere on the defense.

4. Oregon — 92.965

3 five-stars | 15 four-stars | 1 three-star | 19 total commits
Top Commit: Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ WR Dakorien Moore, No. 7 NATL.

One of the biggest stories of National Signing Day was Oregon flipping Five-Star Plus+ CB and longtime Ohio State commit Na’eem Offord away from the Buckeyes. Offord added himself to a loaded defensive secondary class that also includes Ohio safety Trey McNutt, CB Brandon Finney and CB Dorian Brew.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Ducks managed to land Five-Star Plus+ WR Dakorien Moore after he decommitted from LSU last spring. Five-star QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele was expected to battle with Oregon legacy Akili Smith Jr. at quarterback, but Sagapolutele transferred to California shortly after signing with the Ducks. Douglas Utu, Ziyare Addison and Zac Stascausky are notable additions along the offensive line.

5. Ohio State — 92.912

3 five-stars | 17 four-stars | 6 three-stars | 26 total commits
Top Commit: Bellefontaine (Ohio) Five-Star Plus+ QB Tavien St. Clair, No. 4 NATL.

One of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class, Ohio State managed to keep Bellefontaine (Ohio) QB Tavien St. Clair home — or an hour from it, at least. To go with St. Clair, the Buckeyes have signed an On3 five-star receiver for the third consecutive class. This time, it’s Quincy Porter. Ohio native Carter Lowe lines up at offensive tackle and a trio of talented running backs fill the backfield: Bo Jackson, Anthony Rogers and Isaiah West.

This was a particularly strong defensive class for Ohio State as well. Cornerback Devin Sanchez is No. 1 at his position with Faheem Delane assisting in the secondary. Riley Pettijohn and Tarvos Alford combine for one of the top linebacker classes in the cycle. Zion Grady, Epi Sitanilei, Maxwell Roy and more line up along the defensive front.

6. Texas A&M — 92.293

2 five-stars | 17 four-stars | 6 three-stars | 25 total commits
Top Commit: Mesquite (Texas) Horn five-star OT Lamont Rogers, No. 21 NATL.

Five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles flipped his commitment from USC to the Aggies on National Signing Day, becoming the second five-star to join the group and making A&M one of the winners on NSD. Just ahead of National Signing Day, Texas A&M landed offensive tackle and former Mizzou commit Lamont Rogers on Dec. 3. Rogers will be in charge of protecting QB Brady Hart, who flipped from Michigan and reclassified to 2025 at the end of November.

Making up a stout defensive class for the Aggies are CB Adonyss Currie, DL DJ Sanders and CB Jamar Beal-Goines. Notable in-state commits include TE Kiotti Armstrong, WR Kelshaun Johnson, IOL Nelson McGuire and Marcus Garcia, among others.

7. LSU — 92.257

2 five-stars | 15 four-stars | 6 three-stars | 23 total commits
Top Commit: Zephyrhills (Fla.) Five-Star Plus+ CB DJ Pickett, No. 12 NATL.

Although LSU lost the No. 1 overall recruit, Bryce Underwood, in late November — the Tigers built one of the country’s best classes. Most notably, they held onto Five-Star Plus+ cornerback DJ Pickett. LSU also flipped elite offensive lineman Solomon Thomas away from Florida State. Pickett and Thomas lead the way in this class along with the nation’s best running back, Harlem Berry.

Usually heavy on in-state recruits, LSU recruited outside of the state borders well this cycle — landing Arkansas IOL Carius Curne, Texas linebacker Charles Ross, Georgia LB Jaiden Braker and Indiana EDGE Damien Shanklin.

8. Auburn — 92.144

1 five-star | 14 four-stars | 11 three-stars | 26 total commits
Top Commit: Lucedale (Miss.) George County five-star QB Deuce Knight, No. 27 NATL.

As was a common theme with quarterbacks in this cycle, Auburn also benefited from a flip at the position. Deuce Knight, a onetime Notre Dame commit, ultimately chose the Tigers. It is certainly a defensive-heavy class for Auburn this time around, but Alvin Henderson is a national record holder at running back, while Broderick Shull could be protecting Knight’s blind side down the road.

EDGE Jared Smith, DL Malik Autry, S Anquon Fegans and S Eric Winters are each top-100 defensive prospects in Hugh Freeze’s class. Antonio Coleman flipped between Alabama and Auburn multiple times before sticking with the Tigers come National Signing Day.

9. Michigan — 92.041

2 five-stars | 13 four-stars | 8 three-stars | 23 total commits
Top Commit: Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood, No. 1 NATL.

The biggest story of the cycle was longtime LSU commit and wire-to-wire No. 1 recruit Bryce Underwood flipping his commitment from LSU to Michigan in late November. The Mitten State product will be protected by another five-star in elite offensive tackle Andrew Babalola.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Wolverines picked up names such as blue-chip linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, DL Nate Marshall, CB Shamari Earls and safety Kainoa Winston. Marshall returned to the class after initially flipping to Auburn, while Earls defected from Georgia late in the cycle.

10. Tennessee — 91.765

1 five-star | 14 four-stars | 11 three-stars | 26 total commits
Top Commit: Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day Five-Star Plus+ OT David Sanders Jr., No. 8 NATL.

The crown jewel of this Tennessee recruiting class is David Sanders Jr. — the No. 1 offensive tackle in the cycle. The Volunteers had to battle hard with Ohio State for Sanders, but he publicly reaffirmed his commitment before signing. In-state QB George MacIntyre will line up behind Sanders with options out wide in Travis Smith, Radarious Jackson, DaSaahn Brame and more.

Elite defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, a onetime Clemson commit, joined the class on National Signing Day. Ethan Utley and Mariyon Dye are additional notable names along the line of scrimmage.

11. Florida — 91.669

2 five-star | 13 four-stars | 10 three-stars | 26 total commits
Top Commit: Tampa Bay Tech five-star WR Dallas Wilson, No. 29 NATL.

The phrase ‘late push’ perhaps does not do justice to the job Billy Napier did. A class that was floundering a bit through the early portions of the season, the month of November was red-hot for the Gators on the recruiting trail. Thirteen prospects added their names to the 2025 Florida recruiting class between Nov. 17 and Dec. 4. And it all started with quarterback Tramell Jones, who flipped his commitment away from rival Florida State. Jones will have plenty of weapons, as well. Dallas Wilson originally signed with Oregon before joining the Gators in late December, while Vernell Brown III had been in the class since July.

Top-100 safeties Hylton Stubbs and Lagonza Hayward both committed to the Gators in early December, joining Ben Hanks III in what very suddenly became one of the most impressive defensive back classes in the entire country.

12. Notre Dame — 91.270

1 five-star | 14 four-stars | 10 three-stars | 25 total commits
Top Commit: Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall five-star OT Will Black, No. 18 NATL.

With the departure of Deuce Knight to Auburn, Notre Dame made a quick swap in October with the addition of Canadian quarterback Blake Hebert. Hebert will have the luxury of being protected by a seriously talented offensive line. One that consists of five-star OT Will Black, IOL Cameron Herron and OT Owen Strebig. Four-star tight end James Flanigan is also a top-10 player at his position.

Notre Dame’s defensive class is even more impressive. Linebacker Madden Faraimo and EDGE Christopher Burgess Jr. headline the front seven, while cornerback Dallas Golden and safety JaDon Blair anchor the secondary.

13. Miami — 90.816

0 five-stars | 13 four-stars | 8 three-stars | 21 total commits
Top Commit: Los Angeles Oaks Christian four-star EDGE Hayden Lowe, No. 85 NATL.

Collecting top-100 receivers has appeared to be a bit of a hobby of Mario Cristobal’s of late. This year, that manifested in West Broward (Fla.) WR Joshua Moore. Moore will benefit from a rising star out of the state of Georgia at quarterback in Milton’s Luke Nickel, who added another state title to his trophy case this December. Offensive lineman SJ Alofaituli, RB Girard Pringle and TE Brock Schott are other names to watch on the offensive side of the ball.

Hayden Lowe and Herbert Scroggins should prove to be forces along the defensive line, but it is the secondary where things get really good for the Hurricanes. Safety Bryce Fitzgerald, CB Chris Ewald and CB Jaboree Antoine are each blue-chip prospects and have signed with Miami.

14. Penn State — 90.723

0 five-stars | 13 four-stars | 14 three-stars | 27 total commits
Top Commit: Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh four-star TE Andrew Olesh, No. 56 NATL.

No five-star prospects this cycle for the Nittany Lions, but elite tight end Andrew Olesh will continue the strong tradition at the position in State College. Olesh flipped from Michigan on Dec. 6, the last day of the early signing period. Offensive tackle Malachi Goodman and RB Jabree Wallace-Coleman join Olesh on the offense.

Cornerback Daryus Dixson comes to Happy Valley by way of Mater Dei, the nation’s best high school football program. Jahmir Joseph joins him at cornerback for a stout one-two punch in the secondary. Linebacker Alex Tatsch, EDGE Chaz Coleman and LB LaVar Arrington II are names to watch in the front seven.

15. USC — 90.612

2 five-stars | 10 four-stars | 10 three-stars | 22 total commits
Top Commit: Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star QB Husan Longstreet, No. 17 NATL.

USC faced a lot of attrition throughout this cycle, but came away with a talented group of prospects in its 22-man class. Five-star QB Husan Longstreet flipped from Texas A&M the same day Julian Lewis flipped from USC to Colorado. Then, on National Signing Day, former 2026 recruit Jahkeem Stewart joined the program in Los Angeles.

Two blue-chip offensive tackles will be tasked with protecting Longstreet: Alex Payne and Aaron Dunn. Linebacker Matai Tagoa’i, CB Trestin Castro and S Kendarius Reddick are just some of the names besides Stewart headlining the defensive side of the ball.
