Updated schedule, bracket, TV times for Day 6 at College World Series
It’s been an exciting first few days of the College World Series, with several contests coming down to the wire. Half of the eight-team field has now been eliminated, and the two teams who will compete for the championship will be determined by at least the end of Thursday, possibly even as soon as Wednesday.
Florida and Wake Forest can both advance to the final series with a win in their respective matchups Wednesday. The Gators escaped Oral Roberts with a 5-4 win on Sunday despite a late error from coach Kevin O’Sullivan that forced Florida to pull closer Brandon Neely. Wake Forest then took out LSU 3-2 on Monday thanks to a pair of clutch plays in the eight from catcher Bennett Lee.
The Gators start things off with a game against TCU at 2 p.m. ET. The Horned Frogs lost their opening game to Oral Roberts on Friday, but have since reeled off back-to-back victories to keep themselves alive. They managed to get revenge against the Golden Eagles on Tuesday, handing them a 6-1 loss powered by a four-run fifth inning.
The Demon Deacons take on LSU after that at 7 p.m. ET. The Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in an Tuesday’s second elimination game against Tennessee and never looked back. They later added four more runs as Dylan Crews‘ two-RBI home run in the ninth put an exclamation point on an 5-0 victory.
In the event that Florida or Wake loses Wednesday, there will be a rematch on Thursday with the winner of that contest then advancing to the final series. You can view the full schedule and bracket for the remaining games of College World Series action below.
