Eight AP ranked teams lost over the weekend, causing some major movement

Georgia earned another blowout victory, this week being against Missouri. But below the Bulldogs, the top 25 struggled. Eight AP ranked teams fell, and only one of those teams lost to a ranked opponent. Even some teams that walked away with victories had to really fight for the win.

The top 10 saw many interesting results in Week 10, and major movement in the polls came as a result. Alabama barely snuck away with a 20-14 victory over a depleted LSU team. Michigan State, one of the hottest risers in last week’s polls after beating Michigan, lost 40-29 to Purdue in Week 10. The Spartans are now 8-1 on the season, but the loss could really hurt their chances as far as the College Football Playoff is concerned.

Oregon trailed early to Washington, but the Ducks earned a 26-16 victory Saturday night. Ohio State came out sluggish against Nebraska, but the Buckeyes also came away with a 26-17 victory. Cincinnati, who needs a lot of help to make the CFP, needed a goal line stand to avoid a chance at heading to overtime against a 3-6 Tulsa team. Michigan and Notre Dame picked up large victories in the top ten, while Wake Forest’s chances at the CFP ended with a 58-55 loss to North Carolina.
