USC 5-star QB commit Julian Lewis updates recruitment: 'I'm still locked in with USC'
Many are waiting for the recruitment of Carrollton (Ga.) five-star quarterback Julian Lewis to reach its finale. Coming up on a year since he committed to USC, Lewis continues to be pursued by the likes of Colorado and Indiana.
When speaking with ESPN’s Craig Haubert ahead of his season-opening game at Woodward Academy on Friday night, Lewis updated where things stand in his recruitment:
“As of right now, I’m still locked in with USC. That’s still where my home is. Taking visits is kind of a part of the process, I was going to go see what’s going on everywhere else, but I’m still USC right now,” Lewis said.
Official visits have been logged to Indiana, Auburn, Colorado and USC. The Trojans have hung on to Lewis’ pledge, but buzz continues to circulate — mostly around the Buffaloes and Hoosiers. Reports have also circulated around USC being in contact with Texas A&M five-star QB commit Husan Longstreet, leading many to wonder if Lewis will shut down his process before the season ramps up.
While Lewis remains locked in, he did mention that fall visits were a possibility.
“For me personally, when I committed it was for coach (Lincoln) Riley. I knew he was an offensive guru, that’s kind of been his thing is quarterbacks. Going out there to get developed by him is probably one of the best places you can be,” Lewis said.
“I’ll probably hit a couple games, I don’t know in specific, but I’ll probably go around a little bit.”

The latest on Lewis’ recruitment
Earlier this week, On3’s Steve Wiltfong delivered the latest on where things stand in Lewis’ recruitment:
“Julian Lewis has long been committed to USC. I think that Lincoln Riley and company are working to try and get him to shut down this process and 100% lock in with the Trojans,” Wiltfong said. “If they do that, they will stop flirting with (Texas A&M commit) Husan Longstreet.”
Lewis is the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 4 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Georgia.
Julian Lewis Scouting Summary
On3 writes this of Lewis as a prospect:
“Polished, productive signal caller with the skill set of an accurate distributor. Measured at 6-foot, 186 pounds with a 9 ⅜-inch hand at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Has been a touted prospect for some time, earning offers in middle school. Was initially a member of the 2026 cycle before reclassifying into 2025. A productive and efficient passer while playing in a high classification. Completed 66.4% of his passes for 3,094 yards (11.1 yards per attempt) and 48 touchdowns against two interceptions as a junior. Technically polished and is able to replicate his over the top throwing motion with consistency. Shows the ability to place passes without much variance in location. Quick and decisive decision-maker. Dangerous when working over the middle of the field on RPO’s. Effective at working off of play action. Operates at a high level when in a clean pocket. Plays in an offense that often leans on the quick passing game. The youngest top quarterback prospect in the 2025 cycle, turning 17 years-old a month into his senior season.”
