USC lands a commitment from Top 100 defensive line prospect Jaimeon Winfield

Richardson (Texas) High On300 defensive lineman Jaimeon Winfield has committed to USC.
The On3 Industry’s No. 7 defensive lineman adds to a class already ranked No. 1 in the country. Winfield is the No. 84 prospect overall.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Winfield chose to play for the Trojans over an offer list that also included Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Alabama and many others.
USC defensive line coach Eric Henderson was the lead recruiter for Winfield and was actually the first coach to offer him a scholarship.
What Jaimeon Winfield’s commitment means to USC
Winfield is commit No. 15 for head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans in the 2026 class. He joins a USC class that includes the nation’s No. 2 linebacker Xavier Griffin, No. 3 and No. 6 cornerbacks in RJ Sermons and Brandon Lockhart and the No. 12 edge rusher and No. 85 prospect overall Simote Katoanga.

“He’s a kid, he’s very athletic,” Richardson (Texas) High head coach Kendrick Holloway said. “The sky is the limit for him. Has a really great ball get off. That helps with timing and athleticism. He’s a guy we can move and play any position on the d-line. For us he’s an interior guy but he’s also athletic enough to play end. He’s special from that standpoint. When you put his athletic ability and natural strength and power as well, that’s a great combination to have especially for an interior guy.”
On3 National Analyst Cody Bellaire likes the pickup for Lincoln Riley.
“Top 100 prospect for us due to his combination of size, strength and burst off the line of scrimmage. Collected over 20TFL’s and nearly 10 sacks as a junior. Carries his weight very well throughout his frame. Easy 500-pound squatter that possesses raw power in his hands when shocking blockers. Displays excellent get off at the line of scrimmage. Has light feet and the ability to change directions with ease for such a big bodied athlete. Plays high at times but just needs to be more consistent with his pad level, stiffness is not a concern with him. Think his best ball is ahead of him and view him as a high floor and high ceiling prospect that has the potential to walk in and play significant snaps early in his college career and beyond.”
