It took one trip to Los Angeles for Stephen Miller. The 6-foot-1.5, 180-pound safety out of Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County committed to Mississippi State back in June and he was feeling good about the Bulldogs until communication picked up with USC.

The Trojans offered in September, Doug Belk has recruited him hard since and after visiting USC over the weekend for the Penn State game, Miller has flipped his commitment to the Trojans

“What led me to commit to USC was the education and the connections outside of football. I have a chance to be great in either way,” Miller told On3.

Going into the visit, Miller knew about some of USC’s history as a football program. He didn’t know about the academics. That opened his eyes along with the game-day environment and his time in the city.

“The atmosphere is amazing. My visit was very big in my decision. I got a good view of the campus and a great view of the city. I loved just being in L.A. and being around a group of people that will do whatever they can to help you.”

Miller spent a lot of time with Belk. D’Anton Lynn and Lincoln Riley were involved too. The people at USC made a big impact on his decision.

“It is just like a family that keeps God first at USC,” Miller said. “They are not one of them teams to sell dreams to kids, they are about God and helping you accomplish what you want to accomplish in life.

“It feels great to be going to college in L.A. and I feel great about my commitment. USC is about business and that’s something I wanna be a part of.”
