Los Angeles Sierra Canyon four-star cornerback Havon Finney is now in the 2026 class, speeding his recruiting process up a year. USC is in the mix for the local blue-chipper and he’s heading to campus for an official visit this summer.

Finney told On3’s Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong on Friday that he’s set an OV with Lincoln Riley and the Trojans for June 17-19. That trip will come right before he takes an official visit to LSU, beginning on June 20.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder is the No. 100 overall prospect and No. 13 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 14 player in California.

On3 ranks Finney higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 90 recruit, No. 10 corner and No. 11 player in California, per the On300. Finney reclassified up from the 2027 class earlier this month.

Additionally, Finney told Simmons upon his reclassification that he’s looking to come off the board prior to the beginning of his final high school season this fall:

“I am planning to commit before the season,” Finney said. “This decision speeds up the process, so I will continue to build relationships, take the visits and make my decision.

“This is something I have prepared for mentally, so I feel ready. I have been playing football my whole life, so I am ready for the new adventure and my goal has always been to play major college football in front of major crowds.”

There’s plenty of competition for the Trojans in the recruitment of Finney. The likes of Ohio State, Michigan, UCLA, Texas, Oregon and Texas A&M are also involved and looking to land the rising DB. All of those programs are also in play to land an OV from the blue-chipper.

“I have discussed those with my family, I have good relationships with coaches at those schools and nothing is set, but those schools are definitely some I am thinking about,” Finney said. “It has always been the same for me – those that focus on me, I will focus on me. These schools have done that.”
