USC is set to get one of the most coveted prospects in the 2026 cycle on campus this weekend.

Erwinville (La.) University Lab five-star lineman Lamar Brown announced on Monday via X that he’ll make the trip out to Los Angeles and see the Trojans in the coming days.

USC is looking to up its standing with the elite two-way prospect, who has already announced a top four of LSU, Miami, Florida State and Texas A&M. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently favors the hometown Tigers.

Brown is eyeing a commitment on July 4. He’s already locked in official visits to each of his four finalists — Miami (May 30), FSU (June 6), Texas A&M (June 13) and LSU (June 20) — and is entering the homestretch of his process. Could USC throw its hat in the ring down the stretch and make a splash?

“Relationships, trust, calling it a second home. My parents and my family can trust them to look out for me. Helping me become a man,” Brown previously told On3 when asked about what’s factoring into his decision.

Now listed as an athlete, Brown ranks as the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Louisiana.

USC already has over 20 commits in 2026 class

Some programs are still looking to land multiple commitments in the 2026 class, but USC has already landed practically an entire pledge list before the summer. To date, the Trojans have 23 commits and a class that ranks No. 2 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The class is loaded on both sides of the trenches, too. Five defensive linemen and five offensive linemen are already in the fold.

Richardson (Texas) four-star DL Jaimeon Winfield is a top-100 recruit, while Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star DL Tomuhini Topui is inside the top 150. Chicago Mount Carmel four-star DL Braeden Jones is just outside the top 150 but is the No. 4 player in Illinois.

Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star IOL Esun Tafa headlines the top commits on the interior, while Folsom (Calif.) three-star OT Vlad Dyakonov and Denver Valor Christian three-star IOL Kannon Smith are among the newer additions to the class.

Eleven top-200 prospects are in USC’s class to date, including: Gainesville (Ga.) four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) four-star cornerback RJ Sermons, Los Angeles Loyola four-star CB Brandon Lockhart, Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) four-star EDGE Simote Katoanga, Frankfort Heights (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East four-star quarterback Jonas Williams and Painesville (Ohio) Harvey four-star running back Shahn Alston.
