Salt Lake City Davis three-star defensive lineman Viliami Moala, class of 2026, has committed to USC, he announced on Tuesday.

He chose the Trojans while also holding offers from the likes of Utah, UCLA, BYU, Oregon, Miami and Tennessee.

Moala is the No. 339 overall prospect and No. 34 DL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 junior in Utah.

“First and foremost I wanna thank all the coaches that have recruited me since my journey began, with that being said I’m proud to say I’m a TROJAN,” Moala wrote on X. “My recruitment is shut down.”

Moala becomes the sixth commitment for Lincoln Riley, Eric Henderson and Co. in the 2026 class. The junior pledge list checks in at No. 6 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Trojans getting started early with 2026 class

USC recruiting as a whole has been very topsy-turvy throughout the spring and summer, yet the Trojans now find themselves tied for the most 2026 commitments in the nation, alongside Auburn, Florida State and Penn State.

At the end of July, Gainesville (Ga.) four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin became the latest touted Peach State product to commit to the Los Angeles program. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is the nation’s No. 22 overall recruit, No. 2 LB and No. 3 player in Georgia.

“I felt that I’m the biggest priority at USC,” Griffin told On3 upon making his decision public. “The defensive scheme that they are building is world-class.”

Griffin is one of two top-100 prospects in the class, as Los Angeles Loyola four-star cornerback Brandon Lockhart has been in the mix since Oct. 29, 2023. Despite a hefty push from Oregon and others, Lockhart remains in the class and is now the No. 43 overall prospect and No. 4 corner.

“I’m still feeling pretty strong about my commitment although Georgia and Oregon are still heavily recruiting me,” Lockhart recently told On3. “I will definitely be back for another USC game and I will possibly visit Oregon.”

A trio of Golden State natives round out the class. Los Alamitos three-star wide receiver Ja’Myron Baker has been committed since Sept. 2, 2023. Bellflower St. John Bosco three-star athlete Joshua Holland committed shorty after Griffin in July, while Pasadena Sierra Canyon three-star ATH Madden Williams pledged back in November.
