A USC assistant coach visited San Diego Lincoln on Monday and extended offers to Oregon commits four-star cornerback Jalil Tucker and four-star cornerback Jahlil Florence, according to Greg Biggins of 247 Sports.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Tucker ranked as the No. 117 overall recruit in the country and Florence as the No. 156 player in the nation.

On3 is higher on both players than that. Tucker is the No. 55 player in the 2022 On300 and Florence is No. 70 overall.

Tucker is the second-best player in California, according to On3. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Domani Jackson, Anaheim (Calif.) Servite wide receiver and Oregon four-star commit Tetairoa McMillan, and Concord (Calif.) De La Salle four-star safety Zeke Berry round out the top five.

USC visit to San Diego comes on the same day Ducks head coach Mario Cristobal accepted the head coaching job at Miami.

Two players — Montogermy (Ala.) Catholic Prep four-star linebacker T.J. Dudley and Gordo (Ala.) four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey — have already back off their commitments to the school.

Many others, including Florence and Tucker, tweeted their reactions this morning to the landscape-changing news.

The Ducks currently have the No. 9 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. Tucker and Florence make up two of the top four recruits in the class with McMillan and Humble (Texas) Summer Creek five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks.

While Oregon is out looking for its new head coach, the Trojans already have their guy in Lincoln Riley.

The former Oklahoma head coach has been on the job for about a week and has already made major moves on the recruiting trail.

Three former Sooners commits in the next two classes have followed him to USC — and all three are from Southern California. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star all-purpose back Raleek Brown, Los Alamitos (Calif.) High four-star athlete Makai Lemon and Los Alamitos (Calif.) High Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson.
