Miami Central three-star defensive lineman Floyd Boucard decommitted from Oklahoma last week, and that could be a major boon for USC’s recruiting class.

Boucard initially committed to the Sooners on July 20, choosing them the Trojans, as well as Alabama and Miami. But Lincoln Riley and defensive line coach Eric Henderson remained steadfast in their pursuit of him.

Now with him back on the board, the Trojans are looking like the major threat to land him. In recent days, multiple expert predictions have gone in USC’s favor to land the coveted lineman. That includes WeAreSC.com insider Scott Schrader, as well as On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

“The Trojans had him on an official the weekend of June 7 and looked like the leader coming out of that trip,” Wiltfong wrote earlier this week. “The Sooners obviously grabbed momentum for a big, but this one looks to be coming back towards USC.”

Over 20 schools have reached out since he announced his decommitment, one source close to Boucard told On3’s Chad Simmons. But according to his intel as well, the Trojans are well positioned to add to their top-10 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Trojans will have to battle to land Boucard

“More than one source feels USC is quickly the team to beat – again,” Simmons wrote last week. “After Boucard’s visit to USC in the spring, there was buzz behind the scenes that the Trojans were the favorite. Eric Henderson never gave up. USC could be back on top of his list. Miami looks to be the biggest competition for USC. Boucard is in Miami’s backyard, the staff has stayed in communication and they have a lot of history with players at Miami Central.”

The 6-foot-2, 315-pounder is the No. 476 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 44 defensive lineman and No. 64 recruit in Florida.
