Tramel Logan, a defensive line transfer from USF, has committed to Louisville out of the transfer portal.

Logan made the announcement of his commitment to the Cardinals on social media on Tuesday.

“I Thank The Lord I Have Faith,” wrote Logan on Twitter. “I Had To Bet On Myself I’m Glad He Made A Way #FlyVille

Logan appeared in every game during his four seasons with the Bulls, including 20 starts. 19 of those coming the past two years as an upperclassman. In that career in Tampa, he made 91 tackles, 15.5 being for loss, to go with four sacks, nine deflections, two fumble recoveries for touchdowns, and a pick six.

Much of that came in 2023 where Logan had 33 tackles, eight of them for loss, along with 1.5 sacks, four deflections, and all three of his defensive touchdowns as a senior. He was also a captain for six of those 13 games he played in last fall.

Logan, a native of Miami, played high school football at Booker T. Washington. He was a three-star prospect there as the No. 1,662 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the No. 152 EDGE and a Top-250 player out of his state.

Logan entered the portal just a few days ago to end last week on April 26th. He was then the No. 408 overall transfer per On3’s 2024 Transfer Portal Top Players. Those ratings also had him as the No. 36 EDGE in the portal.

Logan is one of 16 transfers to leave South Florida in the portal this offseason. Eight of those were from the defense with five players from the secondary, one linebacker, and two out on the edge in Logan and Lloyd Summerall. To this point, Logan, Summerall (James Madison), and QB Gerry Bohanon (BYU) are the only ones to commit to new programs.

As for Louisville, Logan is the latest addition to a massive portal class. It’s a collection that now ranks at No. 2 overall in On3’s 2024 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. While some have left again during the spring window, it’s still a large group with impact contributors on both sides of the ball, which is what they’ll expect Logan to be upon his arrival.
