The 6-foot-10 bouncy forward boasts a 47.5-inch vertical leap, not to mention a 7-foot-3 wingspan. Kaodirichi, better known as ‘Kao’, is originally from Nigeria and did not start playing basketball until the age of 13 when he moved to the United States.

Kao began his college career at Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU), an NAIA program in Waxahachie, Texas, before suffering a left-foot fracture near the end of his freshman season. Kao did not play college basketball during the 2019-20 season but instead decided to take the year to train and get healthy. During his time away from the court, Kao even got a job working at Home Depot to help support himself.

Prior to the start of the 2020-21 season, Kao joined the University of Texas-Arlington’s program as a walk-on. By the time the 2021-22 season began, Kao was on scholarship and finished the year averaging 4.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game, while shooting 67.4% from the field.
