UTSA defensive back Denver Harris plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on Friday. Harris will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Harris originally signed with Texas A&M out of high school and played there in 2022 before transferring to LSU for the 2023 season. Harris transferred to UTSA for the 2024 season and played in

“I want to start by thanking the entire UTSA family for allowing me the opportunity to continue to play the game that I love. After much consideration and discussions with my family, I have decided to enter into the transfer portal,” Harris said.

Harris made a minimal impact in his first year at Texas A&M as he appeared in only five games to finish with 14 tackles and three passes defended. This past year at LSU, he also played only five contests and had seven tackles with two pass breakups. In his lone season at UTSA in 2024, Harris

As a member of the Class of 2022, Harris was a five-star recruit out of Houston (Texas) North Shore, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 6 overall prospect in the state, the No. 3 cornerback in the class and the No. 23 overall prospect in the class.

A possible reunion with Texas A&M could be in the cards, as Harris appeared to consider it after leaving LSU. It’s unclear how the new coaching regime would view the possibility to adding Harris back to the fold.

Another former Aggie committed to Colorado

Former Texas A&M Akinola Ogunbiyi committed to Colorado out of the NCAA transfer portal and signed with the program. He spent the last five seasons with the Aggies.

Ogunbiyi appeared in only three games this season in College Station. That brought his total of 23 over the past five years, including eight starts.

Ogunbiyi primarily played left guard during his time with Texas A&M. All of his starts came during second and third years with the team as he seemed to take a step back on the depth chart over the past two.

As a member of the Class of 2020, Ogunbiyi was a four-star recruit out of Sugar Land (Texas) Kempner, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 32 overall prospect in the state, the No. 7 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 220 overall prospect in the class.
