UTSA Roadrunners reveal special helmets honoring Hispanic Heritage Month
The UTSA Roadrunners have not only been one of the more impressive programs in college football over the past several years, but they also happen to have one of the coolest logos on their helmets. On Wednesday evening, the Roadrunners revealed some special helmets honoring National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Check them out below.
There’s a special stripe down the middle of the helmets. Then on the back it says, “Los Correcaminos” which means “The Roadrunners” in Spanish.
UTSA just had its star quarterback, Frank Harris, a 2023 preseason All-AAC selection, return last weekend against Temple, after missing their previous two games with a toe injury. He looked dominant, completing 25 of 33 passes for 338 yards, while tossing in three passing touchdowns and adding a rushing touchdown on the ground. Harris was named the 2022 C-USA Player of the Year.
Harris has 9,775 career passing yards, 76 career passing touchdowns and 24 career rushing touchdowns. Without him, UTSA has lost each of the last two games, a 37-29 loss to Army and a 45-14 loss to Tennessee. After winning 23 games the last two seasons, the Roadrunners are 2-3 on the 2023 season.
Next up, they’ll face off against the UAB Blazers on Saturday, Oct. 14th. Kick time for that one is set for 8:00 PM EST. UTSA is currently listed as a 9.5-point favorite, according to the line listed on Fanduel.com.

In other injury-related news for UTSA, De’Corian Clark still has not made his debut in the 2023 campaign and he’s been working his way back from a knee injury he suffered in 2022.
Clark posted 51 catches, 741 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games last season, prior to sustaining a torn ACL last November.
In 2021, UTSA finished with a 12-2 overall record, dropping their bowl game to San Diego State, 38-24. In 2022, the Roadrunners finished 11-3 overall, after they lost their bowl game to the 24th-ranked Troy Trojans, 18-12.
The Roadrunners’ leading receiver this year is Joshua Cephus, who’s hauled in 386 receiving yards and four touchdowns. UTSA’s leading rusher is Kevorian Barnes, who has 75 carries for 337 yards and two touchdowns. Coming out of San Augustine High School (San Augustine, Texas), Barnes was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,479 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2021 cycle.
