Updated College Football Playoff National Championship odds released
We’re 81 days from the unofficial ‘Week 0’ opener of the college football season. Most programs, though, will be kicking off during Labor Day weekend on September 3rd. After Georgia’s dominating 14-1 season to win their first championship since 1980, it’s time to reset ahead of the ’22-’23 season.
Vegas Insider recently updated their odds to win the College Football Playoff. Within the Top-25, we see a lot of familiar faces along with some fresh ones after a wild offseason.

At the top of the list are the pair that met in last season’s title game. Nick Saban and Kirby Smart’s teams lead the way for eight total SEC teams on the list. Behind them are familiar foes in Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes and Dabo Swinney’s Clemson Tigers.
With the top recruiting class in On3’s 2022 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings, Jimbo Fisher and the A&M Aggies round out the Top-5. After that is the newfound rivalry of Lincoln Riley’s new look USC Trojans followed by Riley’s former Oklahoma Sooners, now led by Brent Venables.

The BIG-10 finished just behind the SEC with six teams on the list. The BIG-12 and PAC-12 finished with four apiece while the ACC finished with just three.
Some teams that just missed the cut were Nebraska (+13000), Kentucky (+13500), Pittsburgh (+14100), South Carolina (+15000) and Auburn (+16500).
We have a long ways to go before two teams play for a national title on January 9th in Los Angeles. Still, this is a good preview at a group of teams capable of winning it all next season.
