Virginia forward Jacob Cofie plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Joe Tipton reports. He does so after spending just one year with the Cavaliers.

Cofie was a major contributor for Virginia during the 2024-25 season. He appeared in 32 games, starting in 16 of them.

During that time, Jacob Cofie averaged 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He also chipped in 1.1 steals, 1.0 assists and 0.8 blocks per contest, showing he could fill the stat sheet.

And he did it at great size, too. Cofie checks in at 6 foot 10, 230 pounds, with some ability to stretch the floor.

Though he didn’t shoot a ton from beyond the perimeter, Jacob Cofie is certainly capable. He knocked down 10 3-pointers on the season, though it took him 41 attempts to do so (24.4% shooting percentage).

Still, Cofie was a good free-throw shooter. He made it to the line 52 times and shot 75.0% from the charity stripe.

All of that will make him a coveted target elsewhere. It’ll be interesting to see which schools become a focus for Cofie as he hunts for his new home.

Andrew Rohde enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Jacob Cofie isn’t the only Virginia player to enter the transfer portal since the season ended. Guard Andrew Rohde is entering the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists for the ACC program during the 2024-25 season.

Rohde played high school basketball at Brookfield Central (Brookfield, WI), where he was a three-star prospect in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Prior to his two season with Virginia, Rohde spent a year with St. Thomas-Minnesota. He averaged 17.1 points for the Tommies, but he wasn’t able to recreate those numbers while suiting up for the Cavaliers. We’ll see what he can do with a new program in the 2025-26 season.
