Virginia quarterback transfer Anthony Colandrea commits to UNLV
Virginia quarterback Anthony Colandrea has committed to UNLV. Head coach Lane Kiffin is no stranger to grabbing a signal-caller out of the NCAA transfer portal, doing so once again. A nice addition for the Rebels under Dan Mullen.
On3’s Pete Nakos previously reported three other schools were in the running for Colandrea, with two coming out of the ACC. Pitt and Syracuse hosted the quarterback on visits, in addition to Ole Miss’ involvement.
Colandrea has two years of eligibility remaining.
Per the On3 Transfer Portal Industry Rankings, Colandrea is the No. 125 overall player and No. 14 quarterback to enter this cycle. On3 is a little higher on him, ranking Colandrea 26th and as the third quarterback.
Colandrea played in 11 games last season with Virginia, throwing for 2,125 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. His completion percentage was just a couple ticks above 60% at 61.9%. Numbers Colandrea is likely hoping to improve at his next stop, especially if there is a talent upgrade surrounding him.

Colandrea played high school football at Saint Petersburg (FL) Lakewood, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,456 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
UNLV enters a new era under Dan Mullen after finishing in the Top 25 of the College Football Playoff rankings under head coach Barry Odom – now the Purdue head coach – and offensive coordinator Brennan Marion – now the Sacramento State head coach.
Resolving the quarterback position moving forward is a good start.
