More on Virginia Tech vs. Miami

Miami lost to Pitt Saturday after a win over Florida State. It was the second loss in three games for the Hurricanes.

With a 7-4 conference record, Miami trails Clmson by three games for the ACC regular season title. Virginia, Pitt, North Carolina and NC State are all in front as well.

“I told the player beforehand how important the game was,” head coach Jim Larrañaga said prior to the Pitt game, via CaneSport. “Mostly for this season (because) a lot of those guys weren’t even a part of the last few years. We want to win as many conference games during the regular season as possible. We’ve got Clemson and Virginia sitting atop of us, and they’re only a game or two ahead of us, so we want to be in the mix right until the bitter end.”

Virginia Tech took down Duke and Syracuse over the last week and can win three in a row if the team knocks off Miami.“Yeah. Yeah, a great deal. They earned it; we played well enough to win. We played a good ball game at Virginia. But, you know, nice to (see the) fruits of your labor be recognized and rewarded,” head coach Mike Young said after the win over Duke.
