Andrew Carr aided the effort with 14 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Daivien Williamson added 12 points and three rebounds. Wake Forest edged out the Hokies by two after the game was tied at halftime.
The Tar Heels lost 76-74 to Pittsburgh Dec. 30 for their fifth loss of the season. Star forward Armando Bacot had 22 points, 13 rebounds and three assists.
RJ Davis added 16 points, five rebounds and three assists while Pete Nance had 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.
However, it wasn’t enough and it broke UNC’s four-game winning streak.
