Washington EDGE, former Miami transfer Jayden Wayne enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Washington EDGE Jayden Wayne is back in the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Wayne is in the portal once again after starting his career at Miami.

This past season with the Huskies the former top-100 recruit appeared in 10 games, finishing the year with six tackles and a pass break up.

Prior to coming to Washington, Jayden Wayne was a contributor for Miami as a true freshman. He appeared in eight games, making one start, and finished the year with 13 tackles.

Wayne attended IMG Academy before signing with the Hurricanes out of high school. He was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 85 overall player in the country in the class of 2023, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Before attending IMG, Jayden Wayne played high school football at Lincoln High in Washington. He recorded 44 tackles and nine sacks as a junior there, while adding 18 catches for 269 yards and five touchdowns on offense.

Washington DB Jordan Shaw enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Jayden Wayne entered the transfer portal a day after Washington DB Jordan Shaw went into the portal.

Shaw was a starter for the Huskies this season. He appeared in all 13 games for the Huskies, finishing with 37 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 6 pass breakups.

Shaw spent the 2023 season at Indiana, playing in four games and making two starts. He finished with 9 tackles and a pass breakup.

Shaw committed to Arizona after entering the transfer portal last year, but he ultimately signed with Washington instead. Prior to going to Indiana out of high school, Shaw was ranked as a three-star recruit and the No. 60 cornerback in the country in the class of 2023, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

He attended St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy High in Downey, Calif. Jordan Shaw finished with 83 tackles and seven interceptions as a senior. He also scored eight punt return touchdowns and one kickoff return touchdown during his two years of varsity football. It will be interesting to see where he ends up next to continue his college football career.
