In a rematch of last year’s National Championship game, Washington used a dominant fourth quarter to rally past No. 10 Michigan in a 27-17 victory.

Fans rushed the field celebrating the first big win of the Jedd Fisch era.

Recruits in attendance loved the scene.

“It was a crazy environment tonight,” On300 tight end Vander Ploog said. He is one of the jewels of a Washington 2025 recruiting class that On3 ranks No. 22 nationally. “The energy was through the roof and vibes were high all night.

“I’m still more and more excited to get to play under Coach Fisch and have the chance to make plays in his offense. Also getting to hangout with the other dudes that are committed makes the trip a whole bunch of fun, at the end of the day those are the guys that are gonna be my best friends.”

Fisch and his staff are hoping wins like this entice more top prospects that were at the game to play in games of this magnitude down the road.

Blue-chippers chime in on Washington win

“The environment tonight was electric and almost everyone was on their feet majority of the game!” the state’s No. 1 2026 recruit in On300 defensive lineman David Schwerzel said. “What excites me is the opportunity of getting to play for my hometown team and also the strong coaching staff they have. Every coach’s resume speaks for itself. They know how to develop players!”

Schwerzel and Plogg were two of many four-stars that visited.

“The environment was great!” On300 2026 linebacker Talanoa Ili said. “What excites me is how young they are and I’m curious to see how they do in the future.”

“The atmosphere was amazing,” On300 offensive lineman Tommy Tofi said. “The stadium was really loud and the crowd rushing the field after the win was nice. What excites me is the coaches and the culture that they have. The loyalty and pride the team has is a big plus for me.”

Touted sophomores are feeling the Huskies

There were some talented 2027 prospects inside Husky Stadium.

“My experience at Washington was amazing,” On3’s No. 3 cornerback and No. 1 prospect in Oregon Josiah Molden said. “Ran into some recruiters and coaches on the field and had great talks. I was really excited to see how the culture was being developed by the new coaches. The atmosphere was super loud, lots of energy. The team fed off the crowd for sure.  I am enjoying seeing how the DBs are being coached and how the defense looks as a group. I’m more than excited to see what Washington has to offer.”

“The environment was crazy!” the nation’s No. 2 athlete Honor Fa’alave-Johnson said. “It was a sold out stadium and the atmosphere was crazy. I’m excited to build a relationship with them when I’m allowed to talk to them and I love the brotherhood they have.”

More coveted prospects in attendance

Washington had many offered juniors on-hand.

“The environment was something special,” 2026 linebacker Wassie Lugolobi said. “From kickoff to the final defensive series! Husky fanbase showed up and showed out!UW is a really special place, having grown up in the area. Playing in front of my family as well as the opportunity to be coached by some of the best in college football is something that is very exciting!”

“It was an fun game day experience,” tight end Kai Wesley said. “The campus is awesome sitting right on the water and the stadium was electric and super loud.  seeing  Keleki Latu get seven targets and how they use their tight ends was cool. Was great to meet Coach Paopao and most of the coaches in person. Overall awesome game day experience.
