Detroit Martin Luther King four-star Dante Moore is the best quarterback in the Midwest in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Moore is No. 28 overall recruit in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He demonstrated the skills that have made an elite recruit and top target for many schools Friday.

In a playoff game against River Rouge (Mich.) High, Moore was 14 of 20 for 207 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdown passes were to Chansey Willis, and both featured beautifully placed footballs by Moore.

The first touchdown pass came in the second quarter. With the ball just inside the 30, Moore took the snap and floated the ball towards Willis, who was one-on-one with his defender. Moore placed the ball perfectly in stride for Willis and right in front of the defender. Willis caught the ball and needed only one step to reach the painted area.

The second touchdown throw came in the third quarter on a 4th-and-10 from the opponent’s 29. Moore received the snap out of the shotgun, squared his feet and lofted the ball up to Willis. Willis caught the ball at the five and fell into the end zone for the touchdown.

“It was an inside fade or a go route, just give him the chance … he’s the better playmaker,” Dante Moore told the Detroit Free Press. “So just give him a chance and let him go to work. Just let him do his thing and he caught the ball square for me and I really appreciate that a lot.”

Dante Moore is an elite quarterback

Dante Moore is the fourth-highest rated quarterback in the 2023 class behind three five-star prospects: New Orleans Isidore Newman’s Arch Manning, Los Alamitos (Calif.) High’s Malachi Nelson and Downey (Calif.) Warren’s Nico Iamaleava.

He holds offers from Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee, among others.

Moore was at Ohio State last weekend and took photos with C.J. Stroud and Chris Olave.
