Belleville (Mich.) and River Rouge (Mich.) went back and forth all night long. It came down to the final seconds, and 2025 Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood made those seconds count.

River Rouge four-star Michigan State wide receiver commit Nick Marsh had himself an impressive night, scoring three touchdowns including a 95-yard kickoff return and the game-tying rushing touchdown with 32 seconds to play.

But Marsh’s efforts were not enough. Underwood tossed a 45-yard dime in the final seconds to give Belleville the 35-28 win over River Rouge.

Underwood is the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Underwood currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $435,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Michigan, LSU and others battling for Underwood

Michigan currently leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), with a 41.7% chance to land Underwood’s commitment. The next three schools are Michigan State at 14.8%, Ohio State at 9.6% and LSU at 8%.

“I think [Michigan is] top two right now with LSU,” Wolverine.com insider EJ Holland said Thursday during On3’s Inside Scoop recruiting show. “That was one of the biggest storylines coming out of July just a couple of weeks ago. Or about a month ago now. He made two unofficial visits — one to LSU and one to Michigan. He had a multi-day visit to LSU, spent some time in Baton Rouge around Brian Kelly and that staff. And then immediately came back home and made an unofficial visit for the last day of the BBQ at the Big House, which is Michigan’s annual big recruiting event at the end of July.”
