WATCH: 5-star DL Anthony Lucas skies for TD reception
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral defensive lineman Anthony Lucas is a five-star recruit for his prowess and abilities on the defensive side of the field.
But, as he displayed Friday night, Lucas is also athletic and skilled enough to be a pretty intimidating red zone threat.
With Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral down 28-21 against Phoenix Brophy College Prep, Anthony Lucas set up in the slot to the left of quarterback Brayten Silbor.
Lucas ran a slant route of the middle and Silbor, feeling the pocket collapsing around him, lofted the football towards Lucas.
The 6-foot-5 Lucas slowed down and jumped to high-point the football. He made the catch and fell into the end zone for a touchdown.

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral missed the extra point and ended up losing 28-27. Silbor is a consensus three-star quarterback committed to New Mexico.
Anthony Lucas is one of the best uncommitted recruits in the country
Anthony Lucas announced a top seven of Alabama, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M and USC in August. He has since added UCLA to the list.
The defensive lineman is the No. 13 overall recruit in the 2022 On300 rankings.
Lucas was in Los Angeles for the Bruins marquee victory over LSU in September. He told On3’s Chad Simmons that the coaching staff has shown him a lot of attention.
“I loved the environment at the Rose Bowl,” Anthony Lucas said. “The game was great, the fans were into the game, and I saw a lot I liked. The campus tour stood out too, and I had a great time.”
