WATCH: Elite 2023 QB Arch Manning tosses touchdown pass
New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning has put together plenty of highlight-reel plays in his high school career, and he added yet another Friday night.
Manning hit a streaking receiver for a slant, and he then shrugged off a pair of defenders and stretched for a touchdown.
Manning, the No. 1 overall player in the 2023 On100 rankings, has led one of the most highly publicized recruitments in recent memory. Part of that stems from his famous last name, but he’s got plenty of talent to back up the hype. He holds offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas, Clemson, and Georgia. He recently visited the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide, and he’ll head to Ole Miss next weekend. Trips to Clemson and Texas are also scheduled for later this fall.
In his first two seasons as a starter for Isidore Newman, Manning threw for more than 4,000 yards and 55 touchdowns, while completing better than 64 percent of his passes. Last weekend, he threw for five touchdowns in a 59-7 demolition of Pearl River, and he’s even shown off some running skills earlier this season.
No commitment timeline is in the works
With each of those fall visits scheduled, Manning will have a chance to cut down his list over the next several months, but he insists there’s no set timeline for any decisions to be made.

“It’s going to be a hard decision,” he said. “They’re all great schools, so I haven’t really thought of that too much. I’m not even there yet.”
Charles Power: Arch Manning is worthy of lofty status
On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power listed Manning as the No. 1 overall player in the initial On100 rankings, and he believes he’s lived up to the hype and then some.
“Simply put, Arch Manning has one of the quickest and purest releases I’ve seen from a high school quarterback,” Power said. “His throwing motion is concise with no moving parts. The ball consistently comes out quick. In-person, it’s almost easy to not notice the release unless you’re watching it explicitly.”
” … A quarterback’s ultimate success is decided by how they play from within a pocket. On that front, Manning is already stepping up and firing as the walls are closing in. There are a number of plays from the 2020 season where he doesn’t bail out, stands tall and throws a strike.”
