One of the biggest storylines heading into the All-American Bowl in San Antonio this week was the play of the quarterbacks.

After the first two practices, that has been the case as the six players in San Antonio have made some next-level throws and plays to wow those in attendance.

Ryan Snyder of BWI put together a highlight video featuring all six quarterbacks throwing during the 7-on-7 part of Wednesday’s joint practice.

While the Under Armour All-American Game featured many of the nation’s top recruits, including all five Five-Star Plus+ prospects, the All-American Bowl has a superior quarterback group.

Four of the top seven quarterbacks in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, are playing in the game.

And that doesn’t include Ty Simpson, who can’t play because he has already starting practicing with Alabama, and No. 8 quarterback Nick Evers, who is out due to COVID.

Medina (Ohio) five-star quarterback and On3’s No. 1 signal caller Drew Allar has been the standout of the group so far.

“I definitely feel good about how I’ve done the first two days,” Allar said. “I’m getting more comfortable in the offense. Obviously, it’s a new offense and it’s a new system I have to learn. But, yeah, I’m getting more comfortable in it. I think everybody else is. So, the timing is getting down from the quarterback-receiver standpoint.”

On3 ranks him as the No. 1 quarterback from the practices after two days. Right behind him in the rankings are Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star Devin Brown at No. 2 and Austin (Texas) Westlake five-star and On3 Consensus No. 1 quarterback Cade Klubnik at No. 3.

Apple Valley’s (Calif.) Jayden Denegal slotted in last of the six, but was also at the biggest disadvantage, having arrived later than the other five gunslingers.
