Visit season is upon us. Many of the top, uncommitted 2024 prospects will spend parts — if not all — of their next few weekends on college campuses, taking in football games and getting a feel for schools and programs. The early signing period is in early November. More than 60 percent of the 2024 On3 150 remain uncommitted. These next few weeks will be a mad dash for programs to roll out the red carpet and land their recruiting classes.

Things are very fluid during this time. Visit dates are being added and taken away. Some are kept quiet, and some are a last-minute surprise. Here are the visits that we will be paying attention to for the upcoming September 8 weekend.

The visits

Five-Star Plus+ PG Boogie Fland visits Kentucky

6-3 | 175 pounds | White Plains (NY) Archbishop Stepinac
2024 On3 150: No. 9

Why you need to pay attention: Anytime John Calipari gets a player on campus, it’s noteworthy, especially when it is a point guard. Calipari has had a long track record with top point guards, and Boogie Fland is the No. 1 ranked point guard in the 2024 class. Things are quiet around Fland’s recruitment, but Kentucky is one of the two or three programs carrying some buzz.

Five-Star Plus+ PF Asa Newell visits Texas

6-9 | 205 pounds | Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy
2024 On3 150: No. 8

Why you need to pay attention: More than one person has suggested the momentum in Asa Newell’s recruitment is with Georgia. Texas has let it be known that Newell is a top priority for them. It is unique that a player visits a school during a road football game, especially a road game the magnitude of Texas vs. Alabama (Nate Oats and the Tide are recruiting him too). This, however, could allow Rodney Terry and his staff to focus every ounce of attention on Newell.

Five-Star SG Jalil Bethea visits Miami

6-4 | 170 pounds | Warminster (PA) Archbishop Wood
2024 On3 150: No. 11

Why you need to pay attention: Miami has been in the mix with Jalil Bethea for a while, and this weekend they finally get the new five-star on campus. Bethea just visited Kansas last week, and he has taken a previous visit to Syracuse. Miami just received a commitment from On3’s No. 30 player in 2024, Austin Swartz, who is also a shooting guard. The Hurricanes will get to lay out their plan and their offense. Bethea will also take in a top-25 SEC football opponent in Texas A&M. The tie with Miami, assistant coach DJ Irving used to coach with Bethea’s Team Final program and played in the same high school league as Bethea.

Five-Star SF Liam McNeeley vsiits Indiana

6-7 | 205 pounds | Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy
2024 On3 150: No. 20

Why you need to pay attention: Coming into this visit, Indiana is carrying a lot of the momentum for Liam McNeeley. Texas is still shooting its shot, and by all accounts, last week’s visit to Kansas opened his eyes. This will be Indiana’s shot to remind McNeeley, this is his second visit to Bloomington, why Indiana had momentum in the first place.

Five-Star SG Kon Knueppel visits Alabama

6-5 | 205 pounds | Milwaukee (WI) Wisconsin Lutheran
2024 On3 150: No. 9

Why you need to pay attention: While Alabama came in later in the process for Kon Knueppel, their system quickly opened the five-star shooting guard’s eyes. Heading into the visit, intel would suggest that Alabama is behind a couple of other schools; however, this is their opportunity. Texas is coming to town for one of this week’s biggest college football games. The atmosphere should be a good one.

Four-Star PF Derik Queen visits Indiana

6-9 | 230 pounds | Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy
2024 On3 150: No. 21

Why you need to pay attention: Talk has been pretty quiet surrounding Derik Queen’s recruitment. One thing we know is that Queen has been taking his visits with high school teammate Liam McNeeley. Could the pair be a package deal? This will be Queen’s second trip to Indiana.

Four-star SG Vyctorius Miller visits LSU

6-5 | 170 pounds | Irvine (CA) Cream Lutheran
2024 On3 150: No. 54

Why you need to pay attention: Vyctorius Miller is from a very famous Louisiana family. Miller is the son of rapper Silkk the Shocker and the nephew of Master P. He has been open that his family are LSU fans and that he understands the NIL opportunities that could be available at LSU. Miller has taken official visits to Oregon and USC so far, LSU is the last one on the books, for now. The Tigers will swing for the fences.

Four-star PG Jase Richardson visits Michigan State

6-2 | 175 pounds | Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus High
2024 On3 150: No. 42

Why you need to pay attention: Jase Richardson’s full name is Jason Richardson Jr. Jason Richardson won a national championship, earning second-team All-American honors at Michigan State. This will be Richardson’s second official visit to East Lansing, and more than one person has suggested the Spartans are the favorites throughout the process. Richardson visited Alabama last weekend, and he does have an upcoming visit to Cincinnati.
