2026 safety Emory Snyder commits to West Virginia

Bixby (Okla.) three-star safety Emory Snyder has committed to West Virginia, he announced on Thursday afternoon.
He chose the Mountaineers over offers from Washington State, San Diego State, Colorado State, UTSA and others.
Snyder is the No. 104 safety and No. 17 player in Oklahoma in the 2026 cycle, according to the On300. He is currently unranked in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
WVU has added a top prospect from the Sooner State to its 2026 class, which now features five commits and ranks No. 50 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff now have commitments from four different states.
As a junior for Bixby, one of the top high school programs in the state of Oklahoma, Snyder played receiver and defensive back. He tallied 45 total tackles and six interceptions while also logging six catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, per MaxPreps.
The Spartans put together an 11-2 season, won a state title and finished as the No. 2 team in the state and No. 121 team in the nation, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.

More on West Virginia Recruiting
Snyder is West Virginia’s third commitment this month. Lampasas (Texas) Georgetown three-star running back Jett Walker kicked things off with a pledge on April 2 and was followed by Belle Glade (Fla.) Cardinal Newman four-star athlete Jyron Hughley three days later.
Hughley headlines the class as the No. 373 overall prospect and No. 22 athlete in the class. Walker is a top-50 running back to date.
Feb. 1 brought a pair of commitments to Morgantown via Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage three-star wide receiver Jeffar Jean-Noel and Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller three-star tight end Sam Hamilton.
The Mountaineers signed the nation’s No. 42 recruiting class last cycle. The return of Rodriguez and a new, yet familiar look at WVU could spark some momentum on the trail heading into the summer.
