On300 QB/ATH Jyron Hughley commits to West Virginia

Belle Glade (Fla.) Cardinal Newman On300 quarterback/athlete Jyron Hughley has committed to West Virginia.
The four-star prospect chose to play for head coach Rich Rodriguez and the Mountaineers over Florida State and several others.
Family connections had a lot to do with Hughley’s decision and he loves the direction of the program.
“What made WVU right for me was how it has always been a home for me it always held a special place and my heart since I was a baby,” Hughley said. “I have a lot of history there. I have three uncles that played there Ja’Juan, Travis and Jashaun. I also have family that still lives there till this day.
“My favorite thing about WVU is its culture,” he continued. “How WVU is the only football school there. It’s the talk of Morgantown when it’s game day. It’s packed. Everybody coming out just to watch the Mountaineers play on a good Saturday evening.”

On3 ranks Hughley as the nation’s No. 15 athlete and No. 297 prospect overall. He loves his potential under center in Rodriguez’s program.
“What excites me about Coach Rich Rod is how he develops great quarterbacks and how to get us to the next level,” Hughley said. “He also excites me by the way he runs his offense. He runs my style of offense. Fast, fluid and explosive. Everything is quick and that shows I love to play the game of football.”
Hughley becomes commit No. 4 for West Virginia in the 2026 class. As a junior he completed over 61 percent of his passes for 1,353 yards and 15 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He rushed for 835 yards and 10 more scores.
